The 9 Food Drive, benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, comes at an especially critical time as area emergency pantries served by Second Harvest respond to community needs during the COVID-19 crisis.

The greatest need currently is for funds to purchase healthy shelf stable items for food boxes. These boxes will help feed families whose children are missing school meals, seniors being asked to stay safely in their homes, those in need of food who are quarantined, and employees in our community being impacted by decreases in work hours.

Donate $25 to provide a seven-day nutritionally balanced food box.
Donate $13 for a food box that will include 12-13 healthy staple items.
Donate $7 to provide an additional food backpack for children missing school meals.

The food bank is working with over 800 partner agencies in 24 counties across the Carolinas, including our local school systems, to assess how to best be of service during the coronavirus pandemic.

We hope you'll join our 9 Family Focus partners, Ashley HomeStore, Carolina Panthers, E.R. Services and Showmars, in our combined effort to fight hunger. Unlike the food drives WSOC-TV has done in the past, there will be no physical donations at our 9 Family Focus partner locations. This is a virtual fundraising drive.
