ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — At least one person died in a multi-vehicle crash in Rockingham on Tuesday morning, according to police.
It happened on U.S. Highway 1 near South Hancock Street, just north of the Highway 74 bypass, around 8:10 a.m. That portion of the road was closed as crews worked to clean up the crash scene.
Rockingham Police told Channel 9 there could be more fatalities announced later. We are working to learn the cause of the crash.
