CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was taken to Atrium Health-CMC after being shot Thursday night, paramedics said.

Police responded to the parking lot at 1015 block of East 16th Street in the Belmont community outside of uptown Charlotte, CMPD said. He was shot somewhere in the neighborhood, but police do not know the exact location. The man was not cooperating with authorities.
The shooting victim, believed to be in his 20s, had life-threatening injuries.
No further information has been released.
