CHARLOTTE — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Jaquad Malik Pearson, following an investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
Demetrius Kavon Adams, 18, and a juvenile suspect were apprehended with the assistance of the Real Time Crime Center, North Tryon officers, and the Crime Reduction Unit. Both suspects have been charged with murder.
The incident occurred on Jan. 14, shortly after 7:30 p.m., when officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon in the 5600 block of Brookshire Boulevard.
Upon arrival, they found Pearson with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC. After their arrest, Adams and the juvenile were taken to the Law Enforcement Center for interviews before being transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
