CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have identified the man they said was hit and killed by a vehicle in southwest Charlotte Tuesday evening.
Investigators said that around 6:30 p.m. Jonathan McCallister, 36, passed a car on a double yellow line on John Price Road.
Officials said when McCallister went around a curve he crossed into the oncoming lane and hit and killed 22-year-old Jeremy Barnes, who was attempting to walk across the road.
McCallister was treated for minor injuries and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
He's facing several charges, including involuntary manslaughter.
