MACON COUNTY, N.C. — Police in western North Carolina arrested two students in connection with a hit list.
Macon County Sheriff Robbie Holland said the list had about a dozen names on it, including the names of other students at Franklin High School.
He said the list was part of a plan for revenge and that one of the suspects had access to guns. The sheriff called the hit list a serious threat.
“This was a sincere threat,” Holland said. “This is not a situation where someone's playing around on a piece of paper.”
The superintendent said the students on the list were immediately notified and an alert went out to all parents.
