LINCOLNTON, N.C. — An 82-year-old man died in a Lincoln County crash Saturday night, troopers said.
The wreck happened at around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 150 near Confederate Road.
Highway Patrol said a truck was traveling east, crossed the centerline and sideswiped a car traveling on the other side of the road. The truck then went of the roadway, went down an embankment and struck a tree.
The driver of the truck, Dwayne George Moffat Jr., died at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the car was not hurt in the crash.
The road was closed for over an hour while authorities investigated the scene.
