Arrest made after man stabbed in chest walks into Rock Hill restaurant

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police have arrested a man they said stabbed another man in the chest Thursday evening in Rock Hill.

Officers said they responded to a stabbing call around 6:20 p.m. made from the WingBonz restaurant on Oakland Avenue. When they arrived, police found James Ewing suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

A WingBonz employee told investigators that Ewing came into the restaurant after being stabbed and that she called 911.

Officers went to Ebenezer Avenue Extension, where the stabbing happened and spoke with two witnesses who said Anthony Avera stabbed Ewing and chased him around the yard with a knife.

Avera was arrested and charged with assault and battery and attempted murder.
