One man is believed to be behind break-ins at a Morganton Verizon store and a Hickory Sprint store, according to Morganton Public Safety.
Officials said the cellphone stores were broken into over the weekend. Public safety officers in Morganton said the burglar smashed his way into the Verizon store and stole thousands of dollars in cellphones.
A surveillance picture from the Verizon store showed a man with his head and face covered and with a black backpack strapped to his front. Investigators said he drove off in a Hyundai.
Channel 9 reporter Dave Faherty is gathering more information from investigators on the two cases.
