CHARLOTTE — The Blue Ridge Parkway is just 11 miles shy of fully reopening just in time for the region’s peak fall tourist season, according to a release from the National Park Service.

On Monday, officials said the Parkway is reopening the stretch from milepost 63.7 in Virginia to Little Switzerland in North Carolina.

Two other sections, from milepost 317.5, near Linville Falls, to milepost 324.7 and from Little Switzerland to milepost 340.2 at NC-80, will also reopen more than two years after they were damaged in Hurricane Helene.

Work continues on the remaining damaged sections. Parkway leaders expect repairs to wrap by the end of the year.
