MATTHEWS, N.C. — The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections will recount votes from the Matthews commissioners election Wednesday.
Officials said the recount must be done before the board certifies the vote and it comes at the request of one particular candidate.
Ken McCool was a candidate for the Matthews Town Commission, but he lost by just 13 votes.
If the votes match up, board members will officially certify the election. The race for Matthews Town Commission was filled with controversy.
