Charlotte FBI trains Evidence Response Team to solve major cases

CHARLOTTE — The FBI is preparing new members of its Evidence Response Team to solve large crimes, and one of the trainees is passing the torch to his daughter.

Evidence Response Teams in the FBI travel the country to solve major cases.

The Charlotte team has helped with events like the Charleston church shooting and 9/11.

FBI officials said the training is crucial because the teams come together from all over to solve one crime.

Special Agent Kevin Pakulniewicz is teaching his daughter to be on the team.

“So, by having teams that are trained uniformly, we're in a position where we can respond as a collective unit,” the special agent said.

His daughter joined the FBI in Charlotte last month.
