CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Another local school district is warning parents about the so-called viral "Momo Challenge."
There are reports of it showing up in children's videos online and encouraging kids to harm or even kill themselves.
Friday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools sent a voicemail to students and parents alerting them about the challenge saying "We are being vigilant to make sure students are not viewing these images or discussing these videos with their peers at school."
Several local school districts including Cabarrus County, Union County, and Fort Mill have also asked parents to monitor what their children watch after learning about the challenge.
