CHARLOTTE — For the first time in history, a Charlotte Symphony conductor has won a Grammy.
The Charlotte Observer says Maestro Kwamé Ryan won Best Opera Recording. It’s for the recording he did with the Houston Grand Opera.
Ryan is the first music director in the orchestra’s 94-year-old history to even be nominated for a Grammy.
