Biggs is an 11th grade student at Country Day School in Charlotte.

She said the scariest part of that night was not being able to communicate with her family when she needed to.

“You don’t know what, like what, is really going on and you're worried, because you don't know how your family is,” Biggs said.

Biggs said thankfully her family is OK.

She was worried about her sister who was at the beach when tsunami warnings were issued.
