Deputies investigate after body found in woods in Indian Trail

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — Union County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a body was found in a wooded area in Indian Trail.

The body was found Saturday morning in the woods off Van Buren Drive.

The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Robert Luke Puckett from Midland, North Carolina.

Officials said Puckett had recently been employed at Smith Grounds Management, which is located on Van Buren Drive.

No other information has been released at this time.
