MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Mooresville neighborhood said its neighborhood block party was going to take place as planned Thursday evening for the 4th of July, despite initial concerns after officers posted ‘No Parking’ fliers earlier in the week.
Mooresville Police said the fliers were not intended on keeping the party from happening, but keeping cars off East McLelland Avenue, as they say overcrowding the street could present safety hazards.
After complaints from past years of fireworks being set off too close to cars and homes, Mooresville Police restricted parking this year between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. Friday.
