CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire officials have deemed an east Charlotte house fire accidental.
The fire happened just after midnight Monday on Stonehaven Drive.
Investigators said the fire started in the engine compartment of a parked car in the carport and spread to the home.
The estimated loss on the house is $75,000.
Fire crews told Channel 9 the children inside the home woke up their mom, thinking the neighbor's house was on fire.
The woman went outside to check and saw it was their own house.
Crews said she went back inside the house and was able to get all four of the children out safely.
Charlotte Fire said the Red Cross is at the scene and will be helping the family.
No injuries have been reported.
