CHARLOTTE, N.C — Firefighters said someone died late Wednesday night in a west Charlotte apartment fire.
The fire, which began in the kitchen, happened around 11 p.m. at the apartment complex on Rose Ridge Place, near Clanton Road and Interstate 77.
Firefighters arrived quickly and got the victim out of the apartment, but that person later died at the hospital.
Their name has not been released.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was accidental.
