HICKORY, N.C. — Firefighters in Hickory scrambled to rescue a man from an overturned car at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The crash shut down the southbound lanes of McDonald Parkway, and firefighters said they had to cut the door off the vehicle to get the driver out.
Witnesses said the driver slammed into another car that was making a turn at the intersection.
Police are trying to determine who caused the wreck and the extent of the injuries.
