GASTON, N.C. — Gaston County Sheriff’s Office announced a new app in January to connect Gaston residents with staff, inmates, and the Sheriff’s Office services.
The app’s purpose is to keep users connected to the sheriff’s office, according to a Gaston County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post. It contains features from concealed carry registration to commissary deposit to digitize functions that used to be conducted in a physical building.
Applications for concealed weapons permits will be available on the app.
Users will be access a staff directory, find contact information for the office, and keep up with local crime with news and alerts.
Additionally, users will be able to conduct a search for sex offenders in their area.
Conducting inmate searches and providing commissary will also be available within the app.
The app will also provide a place to apply for jobs within the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office.
