CHARLOTTE — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating a homicide in University City Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a medical call at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments along Kirk Farm Lane.
Upon arrival, they said they discovered one man with life-threatening injuries who had sustained some sort of trauma. Police pronounced him dead on scene.
For hours, investigators have been canvassing the neighborhood looking for any information that could help explain what happened.
Some neighbors say they are unsettled by the violence in their neighborhood.
“I am now freaked out,” Teodoro Abarca told Channel 9’s Miana Massey. “I am seriously thinking about moving. My entire security has been diminished.”
Police say there is no active threat to the community.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No other information about the victim or a potential suspect has been released.
