Local chef dishes about his experience on Food Network

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte chef Chris Coleman notched another win on the Food Network last week on an episode of “Beat Bobby Flay.”

This marked Coleman’s second appearance on the Food Network. He previously competed — and won — on an episode of “Chopped” in 2019.

Coleman says he was still riding high after his “Chopped” win, when producers reached out about appearing on “Beat Bobby Flay.” It was a little intimidating to consider going up against celebrity and “Iron Chef” Flay, but he wanted to take the chance.

“My personal motto in life is always take the meeting because you never know what’s going to happen,” he says.
