ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — An Alexander County man has been charged with first-degree murder after reportedly telling officials he killed his 78-year-old grandmother, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said they responded to a home in the Hiddenite community after Jeffrey Michael Minton showed up at the county detention center and claimed he had killed his grandmother.
Deputies are investigating the woman’s death. However, Minton has been charged with first-degree murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
