Mooresville-based Lowe's expanding sponsorship with Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has been talking a lot lately about stadium renovations and, within 10 years, building a retractable-roof version.

If he needs any tools for tackling such ambitions, he can always turn to home improvement company Lowe’s.

On Friday, the Mooresville-based retailer’s logo appeared above the east entrance at Bank of America Stadium, the Panthers’ 23-year-old home field. Amy Allison, a spokesperson for Lowe’s Cos. Inc. (NYSE: LOW), confirmed to CBJ that the appearance of the giant logo outside the NFL stadium signals an expanded sponsorship agreement.

“We have enjoyed a great partnership with the Carolina Panthers and we’re pleased that continues to grow,” she said in a prepared statement provided to CBJ on Friday afternoon. “Together with growth at our Mooresville headquarters, our announcement to build the Lowe’s Global Tech Center in Charlotte’s South End, and the momentum we have in our business, we’re excited that our partnership with the Panthers gives us another platform to demonstrate our commitment to the community and raise the profile of Lowe’s as a great company to work for.
