CHARLOTTE — A utility project has closed part of Morehead Street just outside of Third Ward. Charlotte Water is installing a water main valve at the intersection of Summit Avenue.

Drivers traveling inbound on Morehead Street will be detoured onto Freedom Drive, Clarkson Street, back to Morehead Street. Lanes are scheduled to reopen by Jan. 29.
