Mother pleads for answers on anniversary of unsolved Chesterfield County murder

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Sasha Wall, 29, was found dead in her car on Easter Sunday in 2018.  Wall was born as Wendell Paul Price Jr. but later transitioned to Sasha Wall.

"I thought this would be solved and they'd have someone," said Wall's mother, Olivia Chambers of Morven, North Carolina. "It's been very tough. That was my only child."

A roadside memorial is on Sandy Plains Road near the state line off Highway 145. Chesterfield County sheriffs’ investigators still don't know what Wall was doing there early that morning.

"Could have been picking up a friend -- dropping someone off -- we just don't have that information," Lt. Wayne Jordan said. Wall's black Toyota Corolla was spotted in the roadway before sunrise Easter morning.

"A passerby called in a car sitting in the middle of the road with somebody in the driver's seat, still running," Jordan said.

Wall was slumped over the center console and was shot several times at close range. Deputies believe the shooter was either inside the car or standing very close outside when it happened. A search of the area turned up no solid evidence.

Sheriff's investigators interviewed as many as 30 people and collected evidence from the car and the scene, but the case quickly ran cold. They believe Wall knew the killer. Wall's mother believes that too.

"It was probably somebody that ate at my table, probably, that did him that way," she said.
