Personalized career development opportunities offered at ‘Be The Light’ job fair

CHARLOTTE — As many as a thousand people attended a job fair at the AvidXchange Music Factory in Charlotte on Saturday.

Insight Global hosted the “Be The Light” event, inviting local businesses and city leaders to attend.

More than 15 of the local companies that attended were there to hire.

“The immersive experience is one you must see to truly understand -- it’s much more than your typical ‘job fair,’ wrote Liz Martin, a representative of Insight Global.

The event is designed to deliver tangible solutions for underserved communities, including opportunities to build confidence and ways to achieve more in their careers.

Insight Global brought its Mobile Career Center featuring free services to attendees, including:

  • One-on-one consultations with experts to build a career plan around one’s goals
  • Career readiness workshops on resume writing, technology, interview skills, and job hunting
  • Headshot studio complete with a wardrobe stylist, makeup and hair touch-ups, and a professional photographer
  • Help creating a LinkedIn profile
  • Career networking
  • Childcare services

City leaders such as Mayor Pro Tem Braxton Winston and Economic Development and Jobs Committee Chair Malcolm Graham spoke at the event alongside Insight Global’s CEO Bert Bean and AvidXchange President Dan Drees.

This is the first time that Insight Global brought its mobile career center to the Queen City.
