CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said remains discovered Wednesday in a field on Ormsby Court off Monroe Road are those of a 69-year-old man who has been missing since 2017.
Someone found the remains Wednesday and contacted authorities.

Police confirmed Thursday the remains have been identified as Raymond Johnson.
A Silver Alert was issued after for Johnson after he vanished from his home in September 2017.
Police are still trying to determine an exact cause of death.
No foul play is expected, and the investigation is ongoing.
