CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A 58-year-old man drowned when officials said his riding lawnmower went into a pond in Cleveland County on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Dirty Ankle Road in Casar.
Deputies said Bennie Hull, 58, was cutting grass or perhaps blowing leaves next to a small pond located on his property.
The lawnmower overturned into the pond when it got too close, deputies said.
Hull was found dead by a family member a short time later.
