Police warn residents in 2 Charlotte neighborhoods after separate rabies cases

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are warning people in two Charlotte neighborhoods after separate rabies cases.

The first case was in the College Street area.

Officers said a bat tested positive for rabies and a person may have been exposed to rabies.

The second case involved a fox testing positive in the Lanaken Drive area.

These two incidents mark the 15th and 16th cases of rabies in Mecklenburg County.
