CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Democratic presidential candidate and California Senator Kamala Harris made a campaign stop in the Charlotte area Friday night.
Harris hosted a town hall in Rock Hill and despite the severe weather, hundreds packed the Winthrop University auditorium.
One topic of discussion was a talk black parents have with their children about race and relationships with police.
"It is a talk that parents have to have often, and most often with their son, explaining son you may be stopped, you may be arrested, you may even be shot because of the color of your skin," Harris said.
Friday's trip was Harris' fourth trip to South Carolina this year.
Democrat Beto O'Rourke also made a campaign stop earlier this week.
He greeted voters at Central Piedmonth Community College in Elizabeth on Monday before heading to Greensboro and Chapel Hill.
O'Rourke visited Rock Hill last month.
