CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Surveillance video from a home in Lansdowne in south Charlotte showed a thief sprinting down a driveway, stealing an expensive saw from a work van and then driving off.

It’s one of several similar crimes reported in the area.
Channel 9 found the number of thefts and burglaries within a mile of Providence Day School doubled between April and May.
