CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Veteran Charlotte restaurateur Pierre Bader will expand his portfolio with a new concept uptown.
Cicchetti is targeting a summer debut. Expect that Venetian-inspired wine bar to feature small Italian dishes. A retail wine shop also is planned for the roughly 3,000-square-foot space.

“It’s exciting because there’s nothing like it,” Bader says. “It’s an answer to socializing.”
The concept will replace City Smoke — another Sonoma Restaurant Group venture — in the Bank of America Corporate Center. City Smoke closed March 2 after seven years in business.
