3 charged in shooting death of 71-year-old Salisbury man

SALISBURY, N.C. — Salisbury police have charged a man and two teens in connection with the city's second homicide of the year last month.

Emerson Roebuck, 71, was found shot to death at about 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 inside his home on Kerr Street near West Innes and North Main streets.

Ronald Dashawn Pruitt, 17, and Kenyatta Raphalle Belton, 16, both of Salsibury, were charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

They are in the Rowan County Jail under no bond.

The third suspect, Tai Alexander Mosley, 21, of Salisbury, turned himself in to the Concord Police Department on Tuesday.

Police said he was charged with first degree murder and robbery.

The victim's roommate woke up to the sound of screams and gunfire.

“The roommate of the victim heard the victim holler his name, then heard two gunshots,” Lt. Greg Beam said.
