CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters in Catawba County battled flames and strong winds while fighting a fire on Lake Norman.
Dozens of firefighters were called to a burning home at about 10 p.m. Sunday on Swanson Road.
Investigators said 30 mph wind gusts pushed the fire from a carport into the home on Lake Norman.
The couple who lived there was not injured; however, the damages are estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
