CHARLOTTE, N.C. — New apartment construction continues to be pursued by developers in Charlotte as the city's growth chugs along.
Developers including Wood Partners, Grubb Properties and Thompson Thrift all recently filed to rezone sites around Charlotte, both near center city and in the suburbs, to build, collectively, hundreds of new apartments. The Charlotte region has seen about 40,000 new apartments deliver since 2015, with rents jumping about 20% in that same period, according to recent CBRE research.
