CHARLOTTE — Overnight snow and below-freezing temperatures in the mountains have prompted delays and closures at some school districts in the region.
Avery County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Friday with limited bus routes.
Due to additional snowfall, Watauga and Ashe County Schools are closed for students. It is an optional workday for teachers.
