ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. — At least two people have been hurt when lightning struck the water just off the South Carolina coast.
News outlets reported a man and woman were struck in the water at the Isle of Palms during a thunderstorm Saturday.
Fire Chief Ann Graham said a child was near the two adults and it was not immediately clear whether the child was also hit.

Graham said the man was briefly unconscious. The woman was pulled from the water and was given CPR after going into cardiac arrest. She was reported in serious condition.
The man and child were in stable condition.
The names of those involved have not been released.
