Mother and son drown when fishing boat capsizes in SC lake

PINOPOLIS, S.C. — Authorities say a mother and son have drowned after their boat capsized on a South Carolina lake.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said the bodies of 56-year-old Constance Brown and her 20-year-old son Benjamin Brown, were found Sunday night in Lake Moultrie near Pinopolis not long after their fishing boat was swamped.

Salisbury told media outlets a third person was found clinging to the capsized boat and was rescued by a passing vessel.

The coroner says that person was treated and released at the hospital.

Authorities say no one on the boat was wearing a life jacket.
