Will Cam Newton win Rookie of the Year?

None — The NFL's Rookie of the Year award will be announced on Saturday at the NFL Honors ceremony.

It seems as though Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is a shoo-in to win the award.

The 2010 Heisman Trophy winner threw for 4,051 yards, 21 TDs.  He also rushed for 706 yards and scored 14 TDs on the ground, both QB records.

Newton outrushed four running backs that at one point started for both Super Bowl XLVI teams this season individually: the Giants Ahmad Bradshaw (659), Brandon Jacobs (571) and the Patriots BenJarvis Green-Ellis (667) and Steven Ridley (441).

Newton was the first player in the league to throw for more than 4,000 yards and run for 500. He was also the first to pass for 500 yards and score 10 rushing TDs.

On Sunday, Newton played the entire second half of the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

On Wednesday, Gatorade signed Newton to a multi-year endorsement deal after his impressive performance.

His closest competitor for the ROY award is Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton.  Dalton threw for 3,398 yards and 20 TDs.

But, is there really any doubt?
