Steph Curry's basketball upbringing groomed him for NBA stardom

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte's Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors could take the NBA Championship in Game 6.

Curry has a lot of support in his hometown, some of which comes from a former teammate of Curry's father, Dell.

Muggsy Bogues played with Dell Curry on the Charlotte Hornets. He told sports anchor Phil Orban the Hornets team Steph Curry grew up around could have never imagined he would turn into a key player for one of NBA history's best offenses.

He does think it helped growing up around NBA players.

Bogues said there was no bigger influence than Dell Curry, who is enjoying the moment almost as much as his son.

"(Dell) is just in awe of what's going on right now and we all are (excited) to see and witness what Stephen is doing right now," Bogues said. "This is an unbelievable time right now for him and his family and he has an opportunity to do something really special here tonight."

Bogues added he is not ready to count Lebron James and the Cavaliers out just yet. He thinks the Cavs will win Tuesday night and head back to Oakland for Game 7 Friday.
