FORECAST:
- The Arctic air is here to stay. Highs in Charlotte struggle to make it near freezing, with wind chill values in the 20s all day – colder for the mountains.
- An Extreme Cold Warning is in place for the mountains highest elevations until noon.
- A Cold Weather Advisory is in place for lower elevations and the foothills until noon.
- Another Cold Weather Advisory for the Charlotte metro and areas south and east for tomorrow morning as wind chill numbers could drop into the single digits.
- A coastal storm will track to our south tomorrow. Looks like a few flurries possible Tuesday evening and overnight for areas southeast of Charlotte. Not worried about accumulations here.
- Places like Charleston will get their first snow in quite some time and will be seeing bigger impacts and disruptions.
- We stay cold through midweek. Temperatures moderate as we go into the weekend
