'I'm feeling good': Local WWII veteran turns 100

HARRISBURG, N.C. — Seven decades of marriage, three decades as a Concord postal carrier and five years spent serving our country during World War II: Those stats alone are pretty impressive, but this week, William McCacheren is adding another amazing number to his repertoire.

He's turning 100 years old, a milestone many aspire to but few will reach.

"The legacy of my family is so rich and so strong, and I'm really proud that my children get to be part of that and they get to know this man that's been on the Earth for 100 years," McCacheren's granddaughter, Rebecca Stoudt, said.

In the video at the top of this page, McCacheren describes the secret to living to be 100.
