CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested an 18-year-old who they said shot a 16-year-old in south Charlotte Wednesday night.
Officers charged Makel Sadler with assault with a deadly weapon.

They said he shot the 16-year-old boy just before 8 p.m. at the McMullen Wood Apartments on Walsh Boulevard, which is off of Johnston Road near Highway 51.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police said both young men know each other, but they haven't said what led to the shooting.
No further information has been released.
