Big changes are in store for Birkdale Village in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Change is coming to Birkdale Village.

The longtime Huntersville shopping center will be redeveloped with a focus on creating a modern-day community gathering place. The changes are designed to deliver elevated shopping, dining and an improved overall experience with central green spaces and increased walkability.

Cincinnati-based North American Properties gained approval from the Huntersville Board of Commissioners earlier this month for improvements to that 52-acre center. Expect the updated space to feature upscale outdoor lounge areas, a full-service concierge and valet as well as new retail and dining offerings.

“It’s the evolution of the concepts. The evolution of retail. The evolution of the experience,” says Tim Perry, managing partner of NAP. “We’ll continue to look for ways to activate the property. Between now and next summer the evolution will begin to take shape.”
