CMS leaders to tackle budget, selling property at board meeting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will tackle two major items at Tuesday evening's school board meeting.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' First Day of School is less than two weeks away.

The first item they will recommend is selling the old Double Oaks School property in north Charlotte to the city.

The city council has offered to buy it for $3.1 million.

They are considering redeveloping the property for affordable housing.

The second item on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting is to recommend approving the operating budget for the upcoming school year.
