Deputies searching for woman accused of stealing ring from Denver widow's home

DENVER, N.C. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office charged a woman with larceny after she stole a valuable ring from a widow's home.

The incident occurred on Aug. 10 at the victim’s residence after she had hired Kimberly Nicole Parker, 27, to clean her home on Christopher Road in Denver.

According to detectives, the victim asked Parker about the ring and she admitted to taking the item and said she would return it.

After the ring was never returned, the victim filed a report for the theft and detectives were able to determine Parker sold the ring to a Gastonia pawn shop on Aug. 11.

The ring was custom made in the 1980s and was a gift from the victim's late husband.

Parker only received $100 in payment for the ring, which was valued at over $2,000 when she sold it to the pawn shop.

Detectives have attempted to find Parker but have been unable to at this point.

She has been charged with one felony count each of larceny, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.
