CHARLOTTE — The Eagle Food & Beer Hall is now serving its signature fried chicken in South End.
That 5,000-square-foot restaurant officially joins the lineup at Atherton Mill after more than a year of Covid-related delays, says Joe Lanni, president and co-founder of Cincinnati-based Thunderdome Restaurant Group.
“It’s been a long time coming,” he says.

Thunderdome was forced to cease operations and furlough 1,300 employees as the pandemic pressured restaurants in 2020. The Eagle in South End is Thunderdome’s first restaurant to open in about a year.
“It was time to get back to the business of opening some restaurants instead of closing them,” Lanni says.
