GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia police are looking for two men in connection to an attempted robbery and shooting Monday morning.
The robbery happened at Quick Cash Pawn in the 2100 block of East Franklin Street.
An employee of a nearby business said the victims told him two men came into the store carrying guns and wearing ski masks.
Reporter Mark Becker said they apparently knew the manager was the only one who could open the safe and they focused on him.
They fired at least one shot that grazed the manager's side. He is expected to recover.
Channel 9 spoke to Blaine Smith who owns a nearby car lot.
“I did hear a little noise, and then all of a sudden we had about 50 police officers come through here and fire trucks … I know the gentleman over there was shot,” Smith said.
Police are reviewing surveillance video from a nearby business that they hope will help them find the suspects.
